Application of Near-field Acoustic Holography in Presence of High Temperature Gradient: Experimental Uncertainty Analysis

چکیده
Near-field Acoustic Holography (NAH) has been shown to be a powerful tool for the study of sound radiation from vibrating structures. It provides the reconstruction of acoustic pressure, intensity and particle velocity in the space starting from pressure measurements made on a plane array near the vibrating structure. The reconstruction of the sound field is based on measurement of cross-spectra in the scan plane and on the application of 2D-spatial Fourier transformations. As a basic hypothesis it is clearly required the wavelength of sound propagation to be constant over the considered space. However, this hypothesis may not be satisfied if measurements are performed in presence of high temperature gradients, as the wavelength will be different along the reconstruction path. The effect of this modifying input can be a significant uncertainty in the

Numerical Study of turbulent free convection of liquid metal with constant and variable properties in the presence of magnetic field
In this research, turbulent MHD convection of liquid metal with constant and variable properties is investigated numerically. The finite volume method is applied to model the fluid flow and natural convection heat transfer in a square cavity. The fluid flow and heat transfer were simulated and compared for two cases constant and variable properties. It is observed that for the case variable pro...

Thermocline layer have remarkable effects on acoustic propagation in Persian Gulf environment. So far, no comprehensive research has been conducted to explore thermocline layer, especially its characteristics including top, thickness, and thermal gradient of thermocline in Persian Gulf. Besides, effects of thermocline on underwater acoustic propagation including transmission loss and sound chan...
متن کاملA Simulation Study of Multi-path Characteristics of Acoustic Propagation in the Strait of Hormuz
Multi-path interference due to boundary reflection in shallow water acoustic communication poses a major obstacle to reliable and high-speed underwater communication system. In this study, initially 3D variations of field data such as sound speed, temperature and salinity in horizontal transects of the Strait of Hormuz were analyzed using the ROPME data. Later, data on typical sound speed ...
متن کاملMeasuring the spatial distribution of sound pressure in a fish tank under laboratory conditions (Research Article)
Sound-related behavioural studies explore the effects of sound on underwater animals in tanks under controlled laboratory conditions. In this study, we aim to assess sound pressure distributions and gradients in a small-sized water-filled tank that can be used in behavioural studies to examine anthropogenic sound effects on fish and invertebrates and to raise awareness among scientists in the f...
